Rowington Club held its 3rd annual clay pigeon shoot at The Falcon Gun Club in Wroxall on Sunday 3 May 2009. The event was sponsored by Frazier's Wine Merchants/Famous Grouse and Fiocchi cartridges.

The shoot was a 50 bird clay sporting shoot over 5 stands with prizes for the high gun, club shooter, most improved and five man team. With 20 entrants the contest was always going to be close and the team contest proved just that with Bob Jay's (30) team of Scott Rogers (32), Malcolm Mumford (31) John Hill (31) and Kevin Reed (28) just pipping son Steve's team to the winning post by 5 clays.

The high gun prize went to Steve Jay with 40 but as he had already won the club trophy the previous year he could not qualify for it this year so the club shooter trophy went to Andy Twaddell who shot a very good 37 of his 50 targets. The most improved shooter was John Hill on 31.

A very good day was had by all and Adrian Cotton, Rowington Club's steward, presented the prizes back at the Club and thanked all the sponsors for helping with such a great event.
