Firstly we would like to thank Exhall and Wixford for putting together a team to play at Rowington. It is always difficult in the middle of GCSEs as some people choose to put their exams before their cricket. Fortunately the Rowington boys know their priorities!

 

Sam Ostler won the toss and elected to field. Sam Turrell (2 for 4 off 3) and Dale Glover (6 for 2 off 2) opened and bowled with their usual ferocious pace. But with the scoreboard showing 4 runs for 4 wickets after 3 overs the skipper made a change to the usual bowling order, bringing on the talented 11 year olds, Fergus Sheridan (17 for 0 off 3) and Jack Beever (14 for 2 off 3). Callum Curtiss (5 for 1 off 3), Tom Webster (16 for 1 off 3) and Ollie Brown (1 for 0 off 1) also bowled well. Notable catches - a hat trick from Ollie Brown and a diving caught and bowled from Dale.

 

It fell to Ben Skillings and Dale "I'm not an opener" Glover to open the batting. Ben retired on 25 whilst Dale got bowled for 6. The two Ollies batted together briefly before Ollie Brown powered his way to 63 leaving Rowington with 14 overs to spare.

 

Final score: Exhall and Wixford 62 for 10, Rowington 63 for 1.
