A Rowington Record-breaker!
A Rowington Record-breaker!
Another interruption to normal service to bring the fantastic news that 13 year old Sam Ostler has become the youngest player ever to receive a cap for gaining four wickets in a league game for Rowington.
Caps are awarded to any player who gets over 50 runs, 3 catches or 4 wickets in a league game. Sam is a leg spinner and plays for Rowington's Second XI. He won his cap on Saturday in a match against Dorridge at home (which also turned out to be the Second XI team's first win of the season) with 5.3 overs, 1 maiden, 16 runs and 4 wickets.
The picture above shows Sam receiving his cap from Steve (Ginger) Jay and the picture below shows Sam with Second XI captain, Anthony (Baldrick) Collins.
Many congratulations to Sam - and keep up the good work!
