VPs turn out in a scorcher at Rowington

Rowington held their annual Vice Presidents' day on Sunday with a team of old boys playing the Sunday side. In an entertaining match watched by a large crowd the old boys put up a score of 156, Rick Francis grabbing most of the runs.

In reply Page went first ball and his replacement fared little better but Will Bird and Graham Sly pushed the Sunday boys towards the target. Sly went on 38 and Bird completed his half century and left Danny Chinn to hit the winning runs.

The match was played in good spirit and the Bill Sly memorial cup was presented to the young Sunday side.  A pig roast was then enjoyed by all with the cup being filled on numerous occasions!
