About the Group
Rowington and Lowsonford Old Folks Group is a small committee formed many years ago to provide outings for the older residents of Rowington and Lowsonford. The group usually arranges one outing each year and there is always a Christmas lunch.
Fundraising
The group's main fund raising takes place at the annual Allsorts Sale held in Rowington Village Hall around the end of September or beginning of October each year. This year's sale is scheduled for Saturday 26 September 2009.
In addition, the group is generously supported by the Jane Ryland Charity and Lowsonford Women's Club, as well as by many residents who make individual donations, all of which are very gratefully received and without which the group could not continue to function.
Social Events
This year there will be no summer outing but the summer luncheon will take place on 10 June 2009 at Henley Golf Club. The annual Christmas lunch will take place in December at Rowington Village Hall.
Eligiblity
All outings and lunches arranged by the group are free and open to anyone living within the parish of Rowington who is aged 65 or over. In the case of a married couple, then only one of the two needs to be over 65 to be eligible.
